Hello and welcome!
The Wilson County Spay/Neuter Group was formed as a direct result of the overwhelming number of homeless animals in Wilson County, Tx. People point fingers at who is to blame when truly it is all of us. We domesticated these animals, it is OUR RESPONSIBILITY to take care of them. Our mission is to:
1). Reduce the pet population through spay/neuter which will in turn help curb the homeless animals in our area. They want to trust us yet still they run, some pregnant, some injured, most starving ...and all afraid.
2). Promote animal welfare and prevent cruelty to animals through humane education.
3). To help, as much as we are able, any animal in need of food, shelter or veterinary care.

How WE help You.

Wow, this page is not getting any activity. Maybe cuz I never use it??! LOL! My PO box was down between Dec. 31 and Feb 15. I check it about once a month but had gotten behind to 6 weeks and saw that I was locked out, I assumed, to nonpayment. The post office was closed so I went back a week later and found out that any mail I'd gotten during that time had been returned! I know atleast one woman who'd said she would send a check. So if anyone hears that attemps to contact us through mail were returned, the po box is back up and i won't let it happen again! Address for anyone who doesn't know is listed below. NOW! Onto other things! On March 6 the Floresville Garden Club is hosting a 4 county wide garden festival. We will have a booth there, as well as Las Lomas K-9 Rescue, I believe. We will be raffling Easter baskets for people and pets! We will also have a bake sale. If anyone can bake or donate dog or cat toys, baskets, etc. that would be greatly appreciated! Contact me for details. (210)382-2167. Deana Phillips, whom I'm not even sure is a memeber of this site (gasp!) has been instrumental in helping me get things organized and helping out with fundraisers. She is also my accountant so I want to say "coudos" to her! Did I spell that right? Probably not, lol! Also Carmen Casey, the resident English chick, has helped so much. Also, if any of you know businesses that would donate ready made easter baskets or gift certs, etc. please ask them. As the song goes, "Aint to proud to beg......"! :)

Hello all! Haven't updated this site in a long time. Hope everyone is staying cool in this triple digit weather. Since the last post there have been 3 or 4 fundraisers, netting close to $1,000.00. I have had lots of help along the way from some wonderful people (you know who you are!). OUr nonprofit status was solidified in April, when WCSNG became a full fledge 501(c)3. Hurray! I need to take some $ to Dr. Jaksic because I have had lots of calls for spays and neuters. I have been given the name of a grant writer that I'm going to call tomorrow. Because we are nonprofit, the writer is free. Otherwise it would be pretty hefty to pay someone for that service. Hopefully he will help us get some real cash flow and we can just spay and neuter everything in sight, including husbands, LOL! Meanwhile I will be looking for volunteers to help with a fundraiser the first weekend in October, probably, or sooner if we run out of money. Thanks to everyone who has helped make this dream come true !

I am going to have a fundraiser on the 24th of this month. That's a Saturday. If anyone can donate time or food, please do! I'm not sure where it will be yet. Stay tuned!
